I'd like to turbo an extra slant that I have but I'm pretty new to turboing and I'd really appreciate it if I could get input on everything I'm gonna need and what the best turbo is for a slant. Will I need an inter cooler? What's the best carb to run, 2 or 4 bbl? If 2bbl should I use an Aussie long runner 2bbl intake or a supersix? If 4bbl should I use a Aussie or offy?

Well I have a 75 Scamp with a slant 6 and an extra slant, I wanna turbo one and maybe have one that's more of a hyper-pak style (long runner 4bbl, headers, dual exhaust.. I'd like to put one of them in a duster, demon or dart. Both will be street cars but see some track time just to see what they'll run but I'm not too big on cutting up a classic so I won't be majorly tubbing it (if any) or building an all out race car. I wanna keep the interiors complete n have it look like a street car. I'd like to get as much power n speed as I can with as little cost as possible and for the car to be a sleeper.

Describe your budget. This stuff can be done on a low buck deal, but ideal setups are costly.

I have big dollar builds going together, but an ideal turbo build is not in my budget. I tend to spend 4-9k on an engine. For an ideal build, we're looking at more.

There are guys here that can help you, but they need an NTE figure to work with to make recommendations.

You can turbo an engine for a lot less than I spend on a race mill.

Lol! Well my budget is like VERY small!! As in I don't even have the money to buy the turbo. I'm 18 and broke:( I'd like to keep it under $300-400 but obviously if I'd use an Aussie manifold the manifold alone would cost that. I guess I'm just a kid with big dreams..

There is a $300 turbo build at www.allpar.com . Uses a 1bbl and stock intake.

18? You can work 2 jobs and have the $$$ in no time.

I'm back to the main 2 questions, will I need an inter cooler and what is the best, cheap, easily found turbo for a stock internal slanty?

Anything/everything in this post is MY opinion.

you don't need an intercooler, but you will probably want one, sooner or later.
Also look into water/alcohol injection.

best turbo... uhm...

The holsets are very good, but really start working best when boost pressure is HIGH!
a h1c, or wh1c should do or the later hx/hy35w, or without the w, but then you need an external wastegate.

buick gn turbo.

The ebay special t3/t4 china turbos... some have better luck with them than others.

I have no experience with the buick, but "many" seem happy with them

Same with the china turbos... I dunno, but they work for some... I have never seen one on a slant, but it should work ok-ish, and they are kinda cheap.

There are just so many different turbos out there...

I looked up the t3/t4 on eBay n it appears to me (I know nothing about turbos) that they should work. The one add said they work good for tt setups on smaller v8s (350ci) or fast spooling singles on a smaller engines.. I think that's the route I'll end up taking... I'll just use all the stock manifolds (maybe upgrade to a super6 setup) and just add a turbo
