Well, I had another "uh oh" moment on I94 east of Billings, MT today. The fuel pump was making some funny noises, and my mixture was drifting around. At the crest of a hill, it essentially died and I had to pull over. Of course, it was 100 deg @ 4 PM. I thought the pump had died, but after pulling it loose from the frame rail, I saw the ground wire (right next to pump) was slightly loose. I tightened it back up and it runs better than it has for a while, especially smoother at idle. The ground must have been intermittent, at least for the last 1-2 days. The pump still makes its whiny noise, but it is stable now, not like a dying duck. Lesson learned. Need a better ground bolt... Lou |

Sounds like you had more fun than you anticipated? Isn't that your favorite kind of event? at least you had plenty of room to pull off the road. Sam |
