does anyone know the stock ride height of a 65 4dr coronet with a slant six? also where to measure from. i put strut rod bushings in a while ago and had to back off the torsion bars so i could get the lca's off. i didn't mark where it was and now it threw the alignment off. id like to reset it to where it was to save some money. |

Hope this helps, you have to take initial measurements from the lower ball joint housing to the floor this is B meas. the other is the lowest point of the adj blade on the t.bar. this is A meas. The difference between A and B should two inches. 64-66 is plus or minus one eighth of an inch ...two inches being optimal. So meas. drivers side and pass. side, bounce car front and back to settle susp. pull both meas. adj. each side bounce car again. meas. again til you get approx. two inches, continue process until you get as close as possible. You can do one side at a time By myself it took me about two hours, meas. bounce etc. If you adj. one side only, you still have to bounce the car each and every time. I bounced my car front to back as my susp. was new front to back as well. My instructions say no more than one eighth between either side for diiference. This as you probably know must be done on level ground. Good luck |

Depending on size of front tire and this is just a rule of thumb,,measure on a level surface, using the spindle as your centerline. from ground to front fender wheelwell lip 25 1/2 ''. I'm over 200 lbs so I set the driver side 1/2'' higher .The proper spec using the lower ball joint base to the ground and the flat surface of the blade(the part that the adjuster bolt screws into) to ground difference is 1 3/4'' +or- 1/8''.Heavy duty suspension 2 1/8'' +or- 1/8'' per factory service manual. Both ways will get you there. There will always be a variance of no more than 1/4''. As they say"Close enough for government work''. |
