Post subject:  gmc typhoon turbo

A co-worker of mine has a turbo off of a cyclone/typhoon that I can get for low bucks. The story behind it is the owner replaced it with a new unit expecting a performance gain and was very disappointed afterwards when it was no faster with a different turbo. My co-worker kept the core and it has been sitting on his shelf for years.

So I was wondering how suited would it be for a 225. The typhoon was a 4.3L so displacement isn't too far off. I am absolutely no good on reading a compressor map so I figured I would ask for some advice. The turbo in question is a Mitsubishi TD06-17C/8 cm2. I found a map of it but as I said I don't really understand the numbers. Thanks for any advice here is the map link.

Since I don't know what the "airflow" units are (on the x-axis), I cannot interpret this map. Offhand, I'd say that should work well since our displacement is very close and that was a street driven/designed vehicle.

Flow on that chart I believe is kg/sec.
