I need a cheap radio to fill the hole in the dash of my 74 Duster. I tried the local parts stores and they are all electronic without knobs (plus their all made in China). Any suggestions on how to fill this hole with a functioning radio fairly inexpensively? I'd love to find an original to the car, but they are rather pricey items. |

I think I still have the AM-FM cassette that was in my 75 Valiant when I bought it. If I remember correctly it is a Kraco. I'm thinking that it worked, I just replaced it with a Retro Sound. If I still have it you are welcome to it just pay for shipping. I'm at work here in Kuwait until the 14th. I can check when I get back. Mike |

What radio did you find? Did it require cutting the dash? |

The radio was made by "Dual Electronics Corp." The model was XC4100. It fit like a glove. The dimensions were exactly the size of the stock cutouts. I will post a pic later today. I do have one problem with it--On AM, both speakers work fine, but on FM, only one speaker works. Can't figure that one out. |

Glad you found one. Jensen radios like the CR220x will fil and can be found NOS or used. There are plenty of other shaft radios that should work. |
