My parts database shows a MOOG ES-401R tie rod end for the early A-Body ('63-'76), but in checking the MOOG web site, they show a ES-319R for over 3 times the price! They show the ES-401R as used between '70 and '90 (various cars) and the ES-319R used between '62 and '70 (various cars).

My database was created by me back in the 80's when I had my shop. I can't see any difference in the specs of the 2 ends. Does anybody know the deal? They look the same to me. The ES-401R currently sells for about $18, and the ES-319R is about $60.

I put the ES-401 tie rods on my '66 Dart when I rebuilt the front end years and years ago. No issues whatsoever.

Josh,

I'm sure that is what I used back in the 80's, or else those numbers would not be in my database. I was creating my database as I bought parts. Thanks for the confirmation.

Anyone else know about the differences in these tie rod ends?

Gee...
If I am buying all new tie rod parts, I go for the C-Body, 11/16 diameter units.
Bigger, stronger and cost about the same as the 5/8 diameter parts.
See: Genuine Spicer Professional Series! #3402805-P for sleeves and 3004794-P for ends.

Or take a look at the aftermarket units that use lock nuts instead of clamps.
