| Post subject: | Another Carb Question - Holley 1920 |
Hey Guys, I just picked up a 1964 Dart as project car. The car was running when I got it, but the idle was very fast. The engine would just stall when I lowered the idle to where it should be. I took it off and rebuilt it with a kit and adjusted the float. Now it will start and only run when I give it some gas. It cuts off otherwise. From what I am reading either the float is bad or the idle circuit is not working. I have two questions? 1. How would you go about checking the idle circuit. I can blow air though the hole by the air/mixture screw - where should this air go? 2. Where can I buy a new float. It seems like they are discontinued? Thanks. |

Floats are not discontinued. Walker #100-14. I prefer the rebuild kits from www.daytonaparts.com , they have a better type of inlet needle and seat than the parts store kits. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download. |

Dan- I am looking at the Walker web site, do you know what the difference is between the 100-14 and the 100-86? |

The 100-14 is the one that's not discontinued!
