Post subject:  kickdown for 727

I think I made another mistake. Been making a lot of them with this Mopar. I bought super six components from someone and just realized that the tranny is differnt from mine. It came off of a 727 and mine is an A904. Am I hosed? Do I have to keep looking for new linkage correct for my tranny? Or could this work? Still don't understand how the whole kickdown thing works.

There won't be any difference in the linkage, just the throttle lever on the Transmission.

Simplify life. Get a cable kick down. I've done a couple on BBD's. :D

I believe the truck kickdown rod is somewhat different and needs some alteration to be used in a car, I also think that the kickdown end on those with 727's and during certain years is different than the slip spring yoke the 904/F-bodies had.

Just thinkin' out loud.

That could be. The lever on the 727 looked similar to me. The valve body is the same. How far back does the 727 adapter move the transmission?
I'll have to see if the 727 in the shop still has any of the connectors on the lever, or if the lever is still on the TV for that matter. Been too long since I looked.

When I put the supersix on my truck (727), the 904 kickdown rod would not clear the shifter linkage. I had to take the shifter linkage off and move one of the arms over enough for the rod to clear.

my .02.
