With engine cold remove your accesory belts and start car. Check to see if noise is present. While doing this don't let it run very long because you have the water pump not circulating coolant with the belt off. If the noise is gone it is an accessory. I like to pull start accessories to check for noise. Wrap (do not tie) a thin rope around pulley a few times and then give the rope a good tug. As it unwraps it will spin the pulley and you might be able to hear your noise. This method works on water pumps, ac compressors, and alternators. Ps pump have too much resistance for this method. Good luck
