Greetings! My name is Matt and I picked up a '63 V100 yesterday. I need to disassemble the steering column to replace the blinker assy. but cannot seem to get the horn button off. I have tried pushing and turning both directions but nothing.
Any help would be great.

Welcome on the board. If you're just starting out with old cars or with Valiants in general, you'll want to get the three books described in this thread as quickly as you can. They won't cost much and will pay you back immediately and largely.

The horn button cap -- the plastic one with the Valiant "V" emblem -- pries off the corn ring/button body by carefully inserting a wide flat screwdriver in the recess between the button cap and the button body, and twisting the screwdriver.

Make sure you're installing a good quality turn signal switch; see here.

Not new to old cars - I traded a 63 VW for the valiant.

Tail lights/stop lights aren't working but I suspect a ground problem.

Slight oil leak on the passenger side. Will get it up in the air today and find it.

Idles super rough when warm. Tune up and carb cleaning will tell more.

170, one barrel, headers, 4 on the floor. Great little car.

Excellent trade. Different worlds. Get those books anyhow.
Spark plug tube seals, valve cover gasket, oil pressure sender are primary suspects.
Tune-up parts and technique suggestions in this thread. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download.
Weird combination.

Could be that. Or could be something like a keyboard in France where the letters aren't in the same places as on an American keyboard...plus jetlag.
