On the way home today I was pushing the Duster a little hard. I hit a stretch where I floored it for an extended period. Oil light came on and dimmed after deceleration, but never went out. Got home (5 minutes later), turned car off for 1 minute, then back on--no light. Problem here?

Your oil pressure bypass stuck. Take it apart, clean it up, and put it back together.

It will also be a good idea to service the oil pressure relief valve to make sure it's doing its job, as described in these two threads: thread 1, thread 2.

And change the oil filter, while you have the hood open... call it cheap "insurance".
Cut the old filter open so you can sleep well... knowing that nothing "came loose" from inside the engine.

Yeah. Change the filter (and the oil, if you're due). Pick a good filter. Wix 51515 (NAPA Gold 1515) is good; Fram is not.
