I have the Dodge factory repair manual but I still cannot determine how to replace the ignition switch on my 1986 Dodge D150 Ram with power steering and no tilt wheel. I know the switch is in the steering column in the section that houses the gear shift lever. It is remotely operated by a rod connected to the steering lock. How do you replace the ignition switch? The problem is that you have to "giggle" the lock to get the blower to come on. I think the contacts on the ignition switch are bad.

I don't know if this is what you already have....

I think yours has the switch mounted on top of the column, near the brake pedal.

FWIW, I removed the switch from the inside of the steering column on my '73, and installed the later model rod-actuated style on the column. It's now much easier to access and doesn't require disassembly of the column.
