anyone working on road noise?

if so,, I am,, as part of the D-150 project,, when one of my sons was 'maintaining' the truck, he was working with a local car audio shop,, ended up with 1200 watts of radio power and 6 speakers,, to me, the system still sounded like crap..

when taking the 83 D-150 apart, the issue became obvious,, no sound insulation,, so the goal is to fix that.

did a lot of internet looking,,
I am starting with an 'imitation lizzard skin'.

To me, the ceramic bubble insulation makes sense,, latex paint on metal as typically used does not.
I blended ceramic bubbles into slovent based Rustolium paint,, semi gloss black,, took about 1/2 a quart to do the D-150 front valence, inside front fenders, inside doors and inside cab. I'll put a second coat on tomorrow
It does seem like the doors and fenders ring less when rapped, but that maybe wishful thinking.
here are some photos,

the ceramic bubbles do give a really nice flat-textured surface..
any way I have done a lot of internet shopping looking at going with:
* Dynamat Extreme Bulk Pac, as cover over the imitation lizzard skin
* RAAMauido PS Ensolite, as a wrap under the dash and over the doors.

trying to combine best prices and positive reviews,, any other thoughts welcome
thanks.

Hey DadTruck,
Don't discount the spray on bed liner places. You are trying to sound insulate and additional benefits would be corrosion protection and panel strengthening. Sounds like a neat project.
