I'm looking for information on what types of vehicals to look at for robbing parts from to convert to disc brakes on my 70 dart, D100's?, Dakota's? what ever works best from the wrecking yards with as little fab work as possible. Thanks all |

No fabrication? 73-76 Dart, Duster, Dart Sport, Swing, Valiant, Scamp. Don't forget that you will need rims with the large bolt pattern and either a different rear axle or different axles with the large bolt pattern. |

1966 thru 72 all A Body Mopars... if you want to stay with the Small Bolt Pattern (SBP) One note, you will need 14 inch or larger wheel rims, with any factory disc brake set-up. DD |

I have the 14's, I can do fabrication if I have too, is there somthing of a easier vehical type to find that I could rob A arms from for a heavier duty front end if I'm willing to do the welding and such? I thought of the rears after the first post and said to myself "crap" gotta get a bolt pattern to match the front. |

One thing to note is that the spindles and control arms are the ticket on these vehicles if going with the more modern setup...If you live in an area with an old yard that still has some late 70's Cordobas,etc...you can grab the larger discs, calipers and claws off these guys for better front end stopping, they bolt right to the late A-body spindles...the down side though is that you will need a set of 15"+ rims to clear that kind of setup.... Keep an eye out in your area, you may get lucky and find a hoarder on Craiglist selling his extra stock for Christmas money...I picked up an 8 1/4 A-body rear end for 1/3 it's normal going rate (not the best gear ratio, but I intend to change that out anyway...) If you have the 1973-1976 spindle, you can bolt the cordoba 'claw' and caliper to the spindle, and use the front discs...this means your front wheels will have to be 15" LBP to clear the calipers. -D.Idiot |

Thanks Duster I! Re-read the post and it makes sense to me now. I need to find the 73-76 UCA & spindle to use with the Cordoba Disc step up, and run 15" LBP wheels. I am going to start gathering parts, starting with the Cordoba brakes. Is there anything else worth picking off that particular car(75 Cordoba), maybe the "Rich Corinthian Leather" seats? |

Thanks guys I'll dig around, we have several yards in my area, a couple tend to be loaded with older rigs, now just need more gas $$  I also printed out the HEI thread from Dan so I can look for some of those GM goodies while I'm out there

I may not remember correctly, but I think the '75 Cordoba had the same 11" rotors as the 73-76 A-bodies. It was later (77, 78 ??) that had the 11.75" setup. So whatever you find- check the size to see if it's what you want. |

Only if the car is all original and the car's manufacture date was after 12-1-75... (so you have a 4 month manufacturing date window...where it could be possible.).-D.Idiot |
