First i would like to say i have always adored slant six....my last car was a straight six rambler but now im proud to own a 78 volare wagon.I was thinking of adding relays to the hei i put in..blower motor...and headlights as well as beefing up the headlight wiring. How does this sound?

You sure are not going to hurt anything, and maybe even help out the 30+ year old wiring and switches..

Sounds like very good and often recommended upgrades!

I did the relay thing when I added HEI and also spliced in a "kill switch" to deenergize said relay. Might come in handy while working underhood and need the engine shut down right now should an emergency arise.

Relays, and also upgraded wires - if necessary - is a very good idea, check here for the voltage loss in the wiring harness in my Aspen.

As long as you're under the hood, do yourself a favour, and double check all your ground connections and fusible links.
Happy Holidays.
