I'd like to convert the linkage type gas pedal in my '60 Valiant over to the cable type. Is there any particular year or model that works best? I have a donor 1973 slant six Duster that I hope to get these parts from. Any tips appreciated! thanks |

That should work fine. I think many late model Mopars (minivans, K-cars, etc?) would work too, but I have not done any kind of survey on this. I have converted all my 67-down A-bodies to cable throttle. I think all of the pedals I used were either late A-body or F-body. Lou |

I used a '71 Dart pedal in my '66. Just be very careful when mounting it so you end up with full pedal travel and a comfortable foot position when your done. Measure twice, drill once. ![]() |

Thankyou guys. Just curious to know how many problems could have been attributed to that early style linkage. Its original linkage is all there but it seems like alot of/and relatively heavy parts controlling the delicate carburetor its attached to. The cable set up seems so much more reliable. Will definately check for best placement....thxs |

The problems I had were binding/sticking. I messed around with a bunch of stuff, including ball bearings/flanges, and adding a cable to the rotating rod linkage. Once I put the cable pedal assy in, no problems. Lou |

I got rid of mine when I went from a 1bbl to an Offy and 390 Holley. ![]() |
