The new year is upon us! Time to start nailing down race dates for the upcoming season. On the Killer Bees site the following dates are listed: March 22-24 Las Vegas May TBD Sacramento June 22,23 Oldies but Goodies Woodburn July 13-14 Samoa August 10,11 Hot Rod Nationals Woodburn August TBD Medford September TBD Redding I am going to contact Gordon up at Bremerton to see if we can't align a race during their Inliner schedule for a slant six race. If we can line it up in May, that will allow PNW slanters the opportunity to run early in the year. I will be looking for an opportunity to run Coos Bay so we can experience 1/8 mile competition with the Bees. CJ |

Hello all, It sure would be nice to get more races further south toward Sacramento such as Infineion. I hear that Stockton has a new track of which I will check out in the next couple of weeks. But with most of the races in Orgeon, makes it tough to be part of this group. Just a thought. |

Dave the races are 2 day, so 3 in Oregon and 3 in Calif looks to be an even split. Richard |

Yes, except that two of the events are in Woodburn which is a 12 hour drive from here. But hey, it was just a thought. Maybe it's time to investigate interest in a group from central and south Ca since we have 6 tracks within a 6 hour drive from Sacramento. And I totally understand it's about convenience so if most of the group is in Oregon, it makes sense for them. I would like to be part of the Bees (and be competitive) but the distances make it prohibative. |

I'm all for more Calfornia races. It would be great to get something going down toward L.A. and further south. We have members there that should have the opportunity! Get some slant sixer's thinking about this, and work on setting something up! I'm sure you can get ahold of Bruce and discuss it with him. We have two SSRN races scheduled at Woodburn, these are well attended events, so there needs to be a good reason to shut them down. I really hope SSRN can set something up in California. Infinion tends to be rather expensive. I'd love to run there. I missed the race that was held there when the bill was footed by the mopar club. Word is, the track rental is pretty steep. It would be stellar if Mark could get some folks together to run the 1/8th at his home track. Plenty of folks down there. Get ahold of him and he can help get cars ready for tech! I contacted Seymore about adding races. It would be best to keep the playing field level between the east and west. If you can get some races scheduled down there, we can cut back up here. Make our events single day races so you can add events. Coos Bay isn't returning emails. They want track rental it appears. I'll keep on it to see if there is any possibility. I'd guess no. I haven't heard a peep out of Bremerton yet. CJ |

Did I hear a bell? I feel hungry. July? 13 and 14? Now I'm really hungry. This is all your fault! Samoa is a grand time! If your not there, your missing a great event! I assume the fireworks will be on this year? See you soon Andrew! CJ PS: This time I'll stay away from the stinky kitty out in the dunes Sunday night. |

How about Texas? We have a boat load of slanters out there! Do we have one that wants to spear head an event or two in the lone star state? Maybe up north to involve more midwest slanters? I'd lay odds that there would be a few folks from "abroad" that would attend. How about it? Be grand to get something going! We also have slanters along the continental divide. Get together and race! I had more fun with my 20 second car dicing it up and making new friends. Tristan and I were head to head for years, making our cars faster, racing grudge match after grudge match! Tristan always seemed to beat me to the next significant digit! I really want to see his blown Duster make a pass! It's all about making our cars better, and running faster, and quicker, and hanging out with like minded folks. I could make a trip to San Diego for a race. I could make a trip to Texas to hang out with Killer Bees! Can I borrow a car? CJ |

I have no problem running 8th mile. We did it here in Sac on New Years Day. Makes the lights more important but definately a rush still. Maybe a schedule like Bakersfield, Irvindale, I believe theres one in Pomona and Infineon. Would like to here from others interested in this. I know there are a bunch of sixers down south. |

Just got off the phone with Kirk at Champion! I'll be calling back tomorrow to get some dates together. It looks like August will be pretty open, but he'll know more tomorrow. We also talked about the possibility of running an event earlier in the year. Hopefully we can come up with some tentative dates that will work for folks. I don't want to conflict with other dates, and keep from getting any back to back weekends if possible. When will Sacramento run? I take it the first weekend is out, but don't know what the track's capacity is. We spoke about a May race weekend briefly. We'll see how that works into his schedule. Still nothing back from Bremerton or Coos Bay. It's early. They should be getting back into it soon though. I'll check into Madras. Do we have anybody interested in doing something with Top Gun? That shouldn't be too much of a pull for the California contingent. CJ |
