Hey everyone, I'm building the worlds first drift prep'd Belvedere! It's a 1965 Belvedere II, 225, a904. I plan on using it for competition next summer. Plans for the engine are: Boosted 225, stock pistons, rods, crankshaft. Summit racing flat tappet cam kit (.435 lift), ported/polished head, polished intake and exhaust manifold, holley 500 cfm 2 bbl, t25 turbo at 10 psi, intercooled, 3 inch straight pipe from turbo back. The 3 speed will be beefed up a little, quick shift kit, and raise the govener to shift at 5000. 3.23 gears and a sure grip out back. Willwood front disc conversion up front (11 inch), with drums in the back. Suspension: Lowered by lower control arm trick 2 inches. Mopar .96 torsion bars, mopar front/rear sway bars, mopar leaf springs with an added leaf (de-arched 2 1/2 inches). Wheels will be 15 x 8 1/2 (back) and 15 x 8 in the front. Diamond racing challenger steelies. 50 profile and 225 wide tire. Gutted rear interior/trunk. Nissan 240sx bucket seats up front, with a nrg steering wheel. http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fb ... =3&theater http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fb ... =3&theater |

3.23 gears are not going to get it. I'd start with a locked 4.10 rear end. Oregon Cam Grinding has a lot more available than Summit. I think you'll want bigger torsion bars and sway bars front and rear. |

The torsion bars will be fine, it's a slant six up front, so it will handle alot better than a v8, and it was a typo, they are .98 torsion bars, and Im choosing 3.23 gears because it will also be a summer driver, and I would like decent gas mileage. I was thinking maybe a 3.5x gear would be a little better. The sure grip will stick fine as well. A guy with a coronet has the same suspension setup except with a 400, and he slides it regularly with no problems. I was thinking about going with the hotchkiss sway bars too, but they are a little out of my price range for now. I will build it up as I go, this is just a starting setup for me. and awesome giezy! maybe you could come check it out sometime! |

Still trying to figure out this picture thing, but I am building a new gauge cluster for it, and I have gotten a grant challenger steering wheel, and '89 Nissan Silvia bucket seats in it. My father gave me the back seat out of a '94 chrysler new yorker, so I also have to figure out how to make mounting brackets for them. And on top of it all, I'm working on the headlamp wiring and the turn signal wiring to get brighter ones. I'll be on with pictures soon! |

Car has now been gutted completely, I got the steering wheels on, and I have picked up a set of wheels for it when its on the street. They are meshy's off of a Crown Victoria. I'm stuck between two engine setups right now, and I'd love to have the slant community make it for me: #1 Turbo Engine: Super six intake and Holley 2230 Carb Comp Cams 264s Cam Kit with Lifters Copper Head Gasket TD04 Turbo off of a Mitsubishi mounted to a modified exhaust manifold Probably around 10 p.s.i OR #2 N/A Engine Super Six intake and Carb Comp Cams 264s Cam Kit With Lifters Ported/polished head milled .150 off Enginebuilder Valves |
