| Post subject: | Intrest In a Slant Race at Maple Grove? |
Hello Slanters and Racers, Would there Be any interest From any East Side Racers For attampting to have an East Side Race At Maple Grove June 22-23 2013? I know That I will Need to Bring this up again at the banquet, and I will But I want to see if there was any interest in the dates / location Before Contacting the track. That could be cool for some of our street drivers as an added bonus and Some of the purpose built road race cars that shoot down the strip too. Just Tossin That out there. I would voulenteer to be the race contact and Be the point Man for coordinating everything. I dont recall in recent memory having a Race in June on the east side.. July Has been Elk Creek, May / October was Mason Dixon, September Was Bristol and October Was Clay City. Chime In. We can discuss furthermore at banquet. If there is enough Interest I will contact Maplegrove and the MegaMoaprActionSeries to see If they would even have us. Thanks, Greg |

Greg, I may be interested. Probably Ryan too. Seymour and I talked a little bit about this last year. I think he was willing to come in to Maple Grove if Ryan brought the race car there. But it did not happen. We had thought maybe if we went up there and run the regular program that it may open the door for a Slant 6 race. Truth of the matter is that some of these "Big" races don't want us around. But it doesn't hurt to ask. Just one note. Ron and I spoke a little while back and he is working on having the race at North Wilkesboro this year on Saturday for the sponsor. He wanted to try and get a good turn out to show the cars at the dealership. We talked about possibly running Elk Creek Friday and North Wilkesboro Saturday. I said all that to say that we talked about also moving those races to June so it was not 100 degrees there. Just something to think about. Lots to discuss at the banquet. Rick |

I could be convinced. That would be a good time of year. We need to make sure we don't have too many races and kill car count at most/all of them. We will make sure to discuss at the banquet, so anyone not going will want to send their wishes along with someone else, or call/Skype in. Cheers, Lou |

Rick, & Lou... I understand .. I think everyone Brings up good Thoughts Here. Maybe just Attending the Event at Maple grove with our slant race cars but not having a specific slant race is an option. See how it's run and see what it's all about then ask about the possibilty of a slant race next year? I am okay with that too. Greg |

Hi Greg Just thought I would chime in here on the Wilkesboro race I have talked to Danny Dunn and he suggested the 2nd weekend in June. I have not talked with Elk Creek yet but intend to. As Rick mentioned we were looking into moving to June to hopefully miss some of those evening thunder storms in July. We also wanted to show our appreciation to Tim Harrold for his long time sponsorship as well as make this a Dale Rose Memorial race. Thanks Ron |
