Is 45 to 50 psi an acceptable oil pressure reading for a 160 hp Slant?

45-50 psi is excellent.

With my mechanical gauge I read 49 psi constant. No heavy fluctuation with engine at full temp or high speed? Why would that be? or is that normal on a rebuilt engine? (right at 500 miles on it) Running Rotella 15w-40 right now(100+ degrees in Texas), switching to 10w-30 on initial change.(and will run 10w-30 here on out)

On my truck the needle goes just above the 3rd notch on the gauge and will fluctuate a little below the 3rd notch while driving...I'm wondering if that's reasonable oil pressure?

I assume that each notch on the gauge maybe 10 psi of pressure but i'm not sure?
