Dan Stern, in his article "Slant 6 Manifold Installation" states: " The two acorn nuts go on the two top, outer end studs, with the coned shaped part of the nut fitting into the dished, conical part of the round brass washers." Does this mean that I put the serrated, conical head of the acorn nut towards the block? Sorry to sound like an idiot, but this is my first rodeo, and I can't imagine using an acorn nut like that. Thanks, Edgar |

Yes, the serrated end fits into the conical washer.Does this mean that I put the serrated, conical head of the acorn nut towards the block? Sorry to sound like an idiot, but this is my first rodeo, and I can't imagine using an acorn nut like that. Thanks, Edgar If you think about it, this acts to lock the nut in place by pressing the slotted tabs into the stud threads. DD |
