Just saw the intro on SPEED for the 24 Hours of Daytona. They showed Marvin getting his trophy in front of a dented door Valiant. Next frame showed the start of one of the races and there went the Valiants off at the start. TOO COOL! Valiants! Sure am glad I had the TV on in the Garage!

Hey Stan, If you know of any leads on model kits for these cars, I want to build a couple for our slot car fun! |

You can find beaters on epay. They will need a ton of work most of the time. I have several photos of some of the cars. Petty car would be the easiest, since the decals can be bought. I had to scratch all mine. Plus no one knew the colors. I had a photographer tell me the 8 color. And I made all the other unique ones for the fenders.

Very cool! Mike got a Hemi Dart kit for his birthday and Bulldog Raceway is having a "Build Off" competition, so... Our first attempt at building a drag slot car will be entered in a show and best 2 out of 3 "Pinks" type competition! Should be fun! I'll keep my eyes open for the early Valiant kits. Thanks! We're having a blast on the road course! CJ has a '64 Grand Sport Vette and I have a '71 Duster. Next we need to build one for Mike! |

Hey Stan, Do you happen to remember the manufacturer on your Valiant kit? I did find one new kit in the box. It's a Lindberg kit. The other Lindbergs I saw of that era don't seem to be very high quality in terms of realism... |

Do not buy a Lindberg or Palmer, unless you want a collection of all the different kits. They are hard to build and when you get done they look like Junk. AMT or SMP or Revell are the ones to buy. If you buy a Promo, most will be bent as the bodys will change shape over time. Just buy a regular styrene kit. Or you could buy a resin kit, but they need more work to get it done. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-SMP-Ann ... 2327d813e6 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Built-AMT-1960- ... 3ccecf448e http://www.ebay.com/itm/Revell-1962-Val ... 2327e0357e http://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-Plymouth-V ... 2c6c4dac08 |

Many thanks Stan! Several models on there... I'm bidding on a couple. Time to start finding more vintage photos and learning how to make decent decals... |
