Has anyone had any experience with this Carburetor. Price seems almost too good. I messaged the guy to confirm it was actually new and not rebuilt. He said new. Any comments are welcome. It would go on a slightly modified 170 for street use....thanks, Mark

I have bought a few from him. At one time, it seemed like he had V-8 and six cyl mixed up, as I got both styles. I have talked to him about how to tell the difference, by looking at the choke linkage. The only problem I had, was the carbs are calibrated very lean. Had to richen them up. I have one of the V-8 carbs on my wifes 88 Dippy w/318. At cruise, the AFR meter, is almost off scale lean. Only the last led is lit. However, it doesn't have a lean surge, and is getting about 22 mpg, so I left it alone.
PS: did this along with a early distributer and HEI conversion, to get rid of the lean burn.

I bought a BBD rebuild from him that ran great for a couple weeks, but then started flooding the engine like crazy and overflowing/backfiring. So it's due for another rebuild, by my hands. Might have just been bad luck or some dirt creeping in there during the install.
Things might be different with the new one.

I bought one of the r8691 from this guy and so far so good, EXCEPT it came without the fuel inlet valve. When I contacted the guy he was a real ASS. He would not respond to me, then when he did he insulted me and never sent the part. He refunded the money and I bought a rebuild kit and fixed the problem. SO long story short... The carb is working but the guy is a dick!

It may be a simple piece of dirt on the needle/seat.

That's what I expect as well. I dropped the needle though in the snow when I went to check it out and haven't been able to find it. Figured I'd just rebuild the whole thing instead of just buying the needle and seat.

The a$$ thing doesn't surprise me. He had no contact with me whatsoever after my purchase, no confirmation or anything. Carb arrived just fine but he has very poor communication.

Poor communication..... X2 on that one. He won't sell to overseas buyers, so I emailed him to ask if he could ship to a US address and I will collect it during a trip I had planned. He said Ok to this idea, asked for all the necessary info and said he would send me an invoice. I sent all the info and I never heard back..... Time waster....My fix was to buy a NOS bbd here in Australia
