I am a new member but have enjoyed reading over the years. I have owned my 72 dart since 1980. I have a 1920 1bbl holley that needs some love. It was leaking from the pump plunger with the plastic holder that activates when linkage moves. I removed the float and the 4 screws holding the plate that covers the pump and noticed a small part of the black rubber on the pump was missing.could this be the problem? Maybe it's the float? I don't have the adjustment tool included in the rebuild kit. I got on line and parts house wanted $40 for the float. Amazon had some for $9 but they did not look like mine a side mounted float. $4 for the float chamber gaskets Am I looking in the wrong place Dan / Doug do you have a price friendly place to get carb parts. The numbers on the carb are 12R-4285B...2561...6156 thanks for the help.

I'm a new member too; I bought a Walker Kit for my 1920 (as SlantSixDan reccomended) (Oreilly) for 24$, and everything was there (plus a few things my specific carb model did not need), including a flimsy float level carboard adjustment tool. About the float, you might need one (nitrophyl absorbs gas with time) but there is a group of floats that is produced no more, the lighter 7.5grs. Weigh yours (I have no scale, so used Post Office's one). I'm looking for a float too; if anybody knows were to find new floats/sells new floats I'll be happy to buy 2!

I got one form mikescarburators (walker, I think).

I have a 1920 question. Mine has a small hole near the base, it goes right through the housing to the main throat where the venturi is. Is this normal or should it be plugged?

These carbs have holes like the one you describe, factory calibration I believe. There had been chatting about them in some posts, if I find the posts I'll point you to them.

Dartski, about floats, check the other thread on the 1920 floats; you can use the heavier one if you use the stiffer spring, the bot should work, as explained there (I tried it, and worked ok)

If I understood, that is a vacuum calibration port. I have 2 carbs, both have it. For a discussion on modifications in the carb that includes the port see
