Post subject:  crankshaft install?

Before dropping my crank down on my block, is there anything I should do first? Thanks Dana

Post subject:  Yep...

Make sure to have your bearings lubed with assembly lube.

Next thing is to be ready to install the rear main seal if doing it per the articles on the board.

Technically, i do a 'test fit' without the rear main installed, torque it and check my runout (since I run a clutch, if this is too much, then I have to dig through the crank pile for a better one...), then pull it and install the rear main seal.

After you torque it all down, roll the crank and check for tightness, it shouldn't take too much effort to turn the crank over at this stage, if it's "stuck" something isn't right.

The flat edge faces to the inside of the engine, the sloped edge faces outward.
