can you get this by using a stock bottom end na? was thinking of pulling the head and port/polishing and bigger valves . Then slapping on an intake of sorts and a 500 holley and a header with a nice 3 inch exhaust. would this be possible? just bouncing ideas off everyone done some searching here already

300 HP is a mighty strong slant 6. 240-260HP would likely be more realistic. You will need a big cam and big valves in the head. Probably the K1/Wiesco piston and rod set up will give you some extra strength and some extra cubes which will help if you are serious about getting close to 300 HP. You will need a good intake and probably a 600 cfm carb. Truthfully, if you are thinking of building a high horsepower slant 6 you might as well call Mike Jeffrey and talk to him about a head. :D

If it is race only then the 3" exhaust is just extra weight.

Most importantly, check your wallet!
