Now that the weather is getting better I want to put a super 6 setup on my 69 valiant. I got the intake, exhaust and a Carter BBD off a 78 Volare last fall and was wondering if I was going to run into any trouble hooking up the carb. I don't have any EGR equipment so I'm not sure what I need for proper vacuum. Does anyone have any experience putting a newer carb on a older car?

Also am I going to any problems using the stock exhaust pipe?

You can put a block off plate on the intake. The hose going to the choke pull off. The hose going to the PCV, and the one going to the distributor. The rest can be plugged. There is a bowl vent that would go to a charcoal canister off the top passenger side. You can leave it open or some people put a fuel filter on it.

I don't have a carb in front of me right now.

Stock exhaust manifold won't have the right choke pocket. You need a 73+ for that.

If you are on the cheap you can get a new EGR gasket and flip the EGR upsidedown and reinstall. This will render it inoperable and sealed so you can move along with other things.

If you have an automatic gearbox, you will also need the kickdown linkage for the super six.

The super six exhaust is 2 1/4", your stock pipe is only 1 7/8".

Make a search for 'super AND six', and you'll get a lot of info. You should also take a look in the 'articles' (click 'Home' to find the link), where you'll find info on the super six swap.
