Fine for a race car with insensitive ignition control, but spiral core actually last longer and don't have RFI problems. |

I use Packard 440 exclusively. Can be had (along with ends, connectors, etc.) from Brillman Company tractor supplies on the net. The insulation is what can "wear out" (degrade by a percentage, that is), not the wire. You're correct, it's not a problem (especially with a decently laid out points system in a non-radio car) as high voltage ignitions aren't actually necessary in normal operation of relatively low compression engines. No slant specific kits that I'm aware of. |

With solid core wires and a good ign box and coil, don't run the engine in the driveway while the wife is trying to watch TV. My wife could tell when I was coming home from a block away with a TV antenna. Best to use magnetic suppression wire. |

Had solid core wires on a car that I took thru a drive-thru. They couldn't hear me over the electrical noise, had to turn off it off so that they could take my order. That was cool for a 20 y.o., not so much now. Haven't run solid core wires since I took them off that car. MSD or Magnecore for the projects, COTS for the "appliances." |
