OK... So i had an ignition issue with a bad regulator, battery, or alternator. I replaced them all, because it was time- they were all original. So a few days after, i smelled burning, and the ammeter was melting down inside the dash. Turns out the VR i got was a piece of junk. I got a new one-fixed the issue, but now my gauge is melted. In the process of all this i had removed the dash/gauge and had the ammeter wires ziptied together to get home. i went over a bump, and watched them arc on the metal portion of the dash. Now the ignition buzzer, and lightbulb stay on constant. I checked all the wiring, and fixed the charging issue. But still cant figure out why it wont go off. I have looked around on line for answers, or what the part is called to replace it and see if it shorted it out somehow. The part is just above the ashtray, inside the dash. As of right now, I just disconnected the clip which has stopped the noise and shut off the light. But im a stickler for having things correct in my vehicle. Any ideas? Haynes manual says if its going constant, there is an issue. But I have good charging, not over/under charging, and no burnt, frayed wires. Thanks a bunch! |

Im guessing that the buzzer got blasted when the wires shorted. May want to pull it apart and see what it looks like in there. Dave |
