Post subject:  slant 6 swap question

I'm building a performance slant 6 engine out of a 64 dart 270. I'm not keeping the dart due to space, time, and money issues but I'm buying a running 76 AMC Jeep DJ10 mail truck, and I figured I could stick my slant 6 motor, trans, and push button set up in it. Now my question is with the jeep being a inline 6 already and a right side drive vehicle will there be any special mods that I will have to do besides for swapping the motor mounts and drilling the wholes/slot for the push button box?

The things to worry about are:

AMC inline 6 is straight up and down, not tilted, so you will have to make sure that the frame rails are spread far enough apart to take the slant six properly (I'd don't recall these Jeeps being optioned for a 304, if it was so, you should have enough room for the slant).

Being Right side drive your oil pump, fuel pump, distributor, etc might have some issues with your column and box. You might use the search function to check out the slant configurations for the other side of the world with right hand drive a-bodies (I think most use a remote oil pump setup).

Good luck with the project, sounds fun!

The dj5 only came out with a inline 6 of 4 cylinder, but I have found other people that have put 304 engines in them.
