Post subject:  Virtues of a proper valve lash/Pre 1975 head /6 spark plus

Thanks for all the info posted here! I relashed the valves on my engine, the second time I got it right, and the sucker now have a nice idle at low RPM (before that it could not idle below 1200 rpm without sputtering and dying when braking in idle).

Now, the question: my 1969 /6 is leaking some oil (126k, original), and I was looking for hotter plugs. I bought the NGK GR4, instead of the ZFR5N, and so far so good. Any opinion on these spark plugs?

I have run the NGK UR4's for years (Peanut plug version). The 4's are hotter and work especially well in older higher mileage engines. You can see how my look by clicking on the red link below my name.

Glad you found nirvana with the valve lash. It does make a big difference and is very easy to do.... :D :D :D
