This part belongs to my older brother. He bought it new to use on the 225 in his '75 Hang 10 Dart, but never took the bottom end apart to install it. It's hung in his garage for many years, and now he'd like to sell it.

So....New Direct Connection windage tray. Out of package, surface rust. Never installed. Any idea what something like this should be going for? I browsed through old parts for sale ads, and didn't see one.

This old thread gave me a little insight about them, but nothing on values.

http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... 426e97053e

This old H.A.M.B. ad showed one for sale, $20. That seemed a little low to me?

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/show ... p?t=648685

That's about the best a Google search turned up.

Thanks for your help.

Does it have the installation kit with it too?

The unused tray itself will bring $80-100. Installation kit about another $25ish.

Mike Jeffrey reproduces them. IIRC, his kit is around $135 now.

The Mopar hardware kit is $68.95. It uses the same kit as the small block. When I bought mine, new, it came with the hardware kit, for about $40.00, if I remember correctly. That was about 30 years ago.

Thanks guys!

Hardware kit....was not educated enough on the subject to know one was needed. I could see by the design that it did not go on the pan rail (or at least did not appear to, Vs. a B engine piece), and use the pan bolts. So I was assuming it re-used a couple main bearing cap bolts? Looking at this amazingly small "Marla Hooch" style photo, it's a little hard to tell what you are getting for $60.

So these bolts are longer to allow for the thickness of the tray?

And as far as I know, he does not have an install kit with it. At least it was not laying there with it. I'll ask.

Does Mr. Jeffrey have a website? Google searches for Mike Jeffrey, Mike Jeffrey Mopar and Mike Jeffrey Racing returned forum posts, but no contact information.

I believe Mike's trays are a little more than that now. I got a tray and scraper a couple months ago. It was $235 (I think) but that did include the shipping. Both were very nice pieces.

I believe He said it should free up 10+ horsepower at high RPM.

Looks like no hardware kit.

Thanks for helping with the value.

So was my comment above correct? The mounting kit is nothing more than some main cap bolts? Are they "special" (longer, or?) for this application somehow, or just replacement bolts?

The main caps have studs in them for mounting the tray too. The heads are center drilled, tapped, and studs installed.
