I have a 1973 Plymouth Duster 225 slant six. just did a full rebuild. timing, valves everything done right and now to hundrerd miles after the rebuild has a sputer and and pinging noise like the timing off.?

Could be.....

It is important to do a valve relash soon. I always go .012 and .022 instead of .010 and .020.

Is your distributor in good shape? What is it's part number?
With that distributor recurved I run 10 degrees initial,20 mechanical plus 22 from the vacuum advance.

Is it over heating at all?
