Post subject:  Wanted: Truck floor mat
I've been looking around for a new rubber interior floor mat for my '82 W-150. So far, all I have found is from Whitney, and the reviews are not good. Anybody know where I can find a black molded floor mat for my truck?

Try StockInteriors.com They have a 5 star rating and people gave good reviews. I've bought from them replacing the Rubber flooring in a 91 standard cab Ram. Very well made and good fit.

I was going to suggest the same. Haven't had personal exp but you can google reviews for it. And I think they offer the mat backed? Thicker backing for more sound insulation as well. Good luck and post back since I may replace my old vinyl w new as well.

Yes it did have backing.It was just like the O.E. I took out.

Just ordered the vinyl mat from Stockinteriors. The rubber version was $200 plus $100 shipping, so I declined. I'll check back here once it's installed. Theanks for the tips, guys.

The vinyl version is $127 with $90 shipping. I'm in Canada, which means I have to eat big shipping charges. I thought about carpet, but this is going to be a working truck, and we have horses. So cleaning horseshit (the good kind) off the cab floor will be alot easier with vinyl. Besides, this price is in line with any of the other mats I found online. I've already invested more time and money in this truck than any sane person would ever consider, so why stop now?

If I were to deal with horses on a regular basis like you talk of then I would have probly Rhino lined the entire inside, making sure to leave the rubber drain plugs usable. That way you get the coverage, added sound suppression, no worries of it wearing out like the vinyl and you can simply scrub it and drain at the same time if its been a real sh!##^ day :D Other wise as the vinyl wears it will develop holes and when water is applied it will creep underneath and be on the metal. Just thinking out loud from my 6 yrs as a farm hand.

I agree with Pohlman. Every car I have ever seen that had a vinyl floor mat only had rust issues from trapped moisture.

It's already too late on the cab floor. There's some rot that has been patched, Frankly, considering the life this truck is going to lead - hauling firewood, bouncing down gravel roads, pulling trailers, I just don't have the ambition, time, or money to replace it. I've already cleaned and sprayed the underside with gravel guard, and after I pull up the old mat I'm giving the inside a good sanding, primer, and a coat of foundation coating. Then install the new mat and pad. It lasts as long as it lasts. Boom.
