Has anyone ever seen a distributor with only one advance spring? I have a Chrysler 3690788 dissy. I bought a kit to convert from points to electronic from my local dealer about 20 or more years ago because I was having occasional misfiring and completely stopping with my 82 d150. I ran it a few years, and then went back to the ESA. I took it apart to clean and lube it, thinking I will reinstall with HEI. I could not see any marks or evidence that the posts ever had a spring on them. Dogear |

Some of the late run Mopar Performance slant six distributors only had one spring installed. The springs don't really leave wear marks on the posts (unless the mechanism is rusty) since they are tight in one position because of the hourglass shape of the posts on the shaft and weights) and all the movement is actually just tension with them.Sounds like you need to install a good set and redial it in. -D.Idiot |

Thanks, D.I. Any recommendations on where to get them? Would a NAPA store carry springs? Dogear |

There is a kit you can get from bigslant6fan if recurving. If you want the stock springs, I need the number off the governor and I might have a set I could send for a couple $ and postage. -D.Idiot |
