For those not traveling to Redding this weekend, Saturday will be the second in the Nostalgia series at Woodburn Dragstrip. The Inliner/Flathead will run at this event.
Sunday is the Sunoco series. I will be making a day of it Saturday, and heading home to work on Linda's pickup Sunday.

Hope everyone has fun this weekend at the races! :D

We had a great day Saturday!

Doug Powers took top honors, winning the Inliner/Flathead event.

Dave Mueller fielded a 30-something Plymouth flathead with a five speed in competition. He broke out trying to get used to the flattie, but was able to compete, though his car was sidelined with electrical issues prior to the final qualifier.
Richard's engine wasn't winding up normally, so he'll be doing some carb work to get the Ford in Fopar back to it's normal, deadly quick off the line self.

In the final, I didn't quite get up to temperature with the Hooptie, and it coughed leaving the line. (The run was normal past the 60', but it lost 2/10ths at the 60. Couldn't make the time back. My fault, not the car's. Should have started it just a bit sooner.

Temperatures didn't get much over 84°F, and the track surface was fair. The Nitro cars were off running someplace else this weekend, so there wasn't the level of prep we had a couple weeks ago. Winds were straight down the track, gusting to 30 mph. Humidity was zero.
Most of us ran a couple MPH faster than normal with the brisk tail wind. :D
