Well at least it has the slant six so you have a leg up over the V-8 crowd...I think the old MP guide listed the 1962-1967 B-body as having a 3300-3600 lbs curb weight with the old poly "A" engine (the fore runner to the newer 318). Most likely the car is currently about 3400-3500 lbs with the 225, which comes in about the curb weight of a stock small block V-8 1973-1976 Plymouth Duster...I know that my 1967 Valiant 4 door with me in the drivers seat, 16 gallons of gas, and a load of tools and spare tire weighed in at 3050# at the local weigh station( so it was close to 2700-2800 with no driver). Sounds like after you install a 5 gallon fuel cell, and ditch the rear bench, and all the sound deadening, and pull the side windows for plexiglass, you will be looking into a fiberglass hood/fenders, and maybe removing the front and rear bumpers and mounts. At least it's not a late B-body where you would be trying to go from 4000# to your target weight. -D.Idiot |

Yeah, mine was weighed last year with my dad in it at 3400#. Since then, I have removed front/rear bench (light buckets in place), rear bumper (cut the mounts and fabbing up a roll pan), headliner, deadening, carpet, no rear door panels, lighter steering wheel. As for the hood, I'm not going to go fiberglass. I am going to cut two pretty big sections out of the hood to insert aluminum louvers. Fiberglass fenders are probably going to happen. |

My 67 Dart weighed in at 2625 lbs.Headliner removed.Dashpad and everything under the dash removed but the wires. 4 doors gutted,Lexan side windows. Aluminum door panels, 1 race seat,.024 steel divider where the back seat was,5 gallon fuel cell. Last was fiberglass front and rear bumpers. All steel factory body and front and rear glass. I think you can get to the weight you want or real close. |

Forgot to say my 65 Belvedere I 2 door sedan weighed in at 3600 lbs with a big block, full street trim and interior. Again you should be able to reach the weight darn close. |
