Post subject:  Tire size for 15x6 wheels
What would be a good tire size for my 15x6 wheels on my '71 dart, daily driver, manual steering. Not racing here. I live in San Diego so I don't need all weather tires or anything special.

Any brands to suggest also? I'll be ordering from summitracing.com

I have a set of P215 70 Toyo Eclipse that ride very nice on that rim size. I would be tempted to go with P225's. They ride very, very nice!

If stopping in rush hour traffic is an issue, run P245 60 BFG TA radials on the back and P215 70's BFG's in the front. They are like sea anchors when it comes to stopping on a dime! The 245's keep the car nice and straight. I ran a set for 8 years and saved my bacon many many times....especially driving through Bellevue or in the winter on icey crowned roads.......in the middle of the winter. Just get them sipped first! They grip like an octopus. :D :D :D

Mopar used 225/60/15's on a lot of the bigger cars and most of the common speedo gears available reflect that this tire with common performance rear gearing was a common thing the engineers thought about.

The bad part is time is not being kind to us and most places no longer stock this size as 15's haven't been a standard option in a while.

I ran 215/60/15 front 225/60/15 rear on 6'' factory Road Wheels from a 73 Chrysler NewYorker on my 67 Dart with no issues.

I ran 215/60/15 's as well on aluminum 15x6 Fifth Avenue rims. Can't say what'd work best in sunny California, but I've usually run Michelins (MXV4- but they don't make my size any more)- they always impress me with great wear, & good grip- dry- rain- or snow.

I also vote for 215/60s or 225/60s. If you want more sidewall or overall height, go with 215/65s, which I believe are available.
