Post subject: | Remove engine... |
The easiest way is to remove the engine from the car... the not so fun way is to get car on jackstands, drain the oil, loosen motor mount bolts and jack the engine up as far as it will go without breaking the car or linkage. loosen all the bolts in the pan (some will be a hard to get to near the K-member and will require a box end wrench or flat ratchet)...once it's loose you can pry it loose from the gasket, then you will need a set of good pump pliers to remove the oil pump pickup...once it's out the pan will slide out and the underside of the engine will be mostly accessible. It's just easier to pull the engine and do it off the crane or engine stand. -D.Idiot. |

Get an engine stand (cheap enough at Harbor Freight)- that way once you pull the engine, you can take the carb off, flip the engine upside down & put the pan back on EASY. |

Get an engine stand (cheap enough at Harbor Freight) Just don't get one without an "H" shaped bottom leg set up, the top heavy slant wil be very unstable on the "T" shaped bottom leg. Richard |
