Hey guys, I had some ammeter trouble and was advised to try s6 dans mod. I couldn't find dans exact instructions but i did find someone else who mentioned doing it. So i basically connected two 10ga wires to the output terminal of the alternator and ran the other end to the starter relay and hooked that up with a fusible link. When i went to connect the battery there was a spark and it burnt the top of the battery terminal. Can anyone explain what i did wrong? Heres a link to some pictures of where i connected the cables. Also in the process i Also fixed the connections to the ammeter because one was burnt. i also bypassed the bulkhead connection for the red lead and connected it directly to the red lead under the hood. the part in the pics looks wired to the right locations, I would look in the other bypass stuff you mention with the bulkhead connectors and especially the ammeter connection as there is stuff near it that could be shorting to ground. |
