Norm, There are many good and many bad TC companies out there. I (and Doug) have had good experience with Continental Converters in Inglewood, CA. Dennis has had good experience with Midwest Converters (don't know where - check links section?). TCI and Turbo Action have good reps. The most important thing is to get the right stall rating. Typically a converter rated for a V8 will stall about 30-40% lower on a Slant. Also, make sure to get the alloy pump drive hub on whatever you buy. Now I bet you're really up in the air... Lou |

It helps if the converter company has built for slant six motors before. It gives them input at how to set the converter to give the stall speed wanted. Most converter companies will adjust your converter at no charge if they miss on the desired stall speed, but, I don't want to pull it out once it's in so I'd buy from someone who's done a few for the slant six. BTW Norm, is the billet converter you mentioned the name of the company making them or a type of converter? Cecil |
