I have no ideas for that but, I would return it and get a HEI module and a single pickup distributor and then you can have a really good electronic ignition system for less than $100. |

That's about what I have in this set, seems like everything I read says they work well.....as long as you hook them up right........ ![]() |

That's what I have. I put a jumper wire on the inside of the ballast resistor so it looks stock. Or remove the ballast and hook up the 12v directly to the + on the coil. Your timing will change after removal of the points, so you need a timing light. |

Yes timing has changed, the coil gets hot. Never checked it before, so no sure if that's normal or not? I put a double spade connector on the 12 volt side of the ballast resistor, that will work won't it? Also any reason I'm seeing 12 volts on both sides of the resistor? It reads 12 volts on both side? Thanks for the help....... |

Years ago for a '65 Barracuda, I bought a J.C.Whitney replacement regulator. It appeared very similar to the original, but when I opened it up it was mostly empty space and surface mounted electronics. Seemed to work just fine with a stock-type Mopar electronic ignition. It's likely that almost all the stock replacements now are electronic, as it's much cheaper than the original electro-mechanical design. |

I have had great luck with my Pertronix. Runs 6200 RPM and 260 HP with no trouble. Yes, I believe almost all replacement regs for early cars are solid state now. Lou |

Are you sure you have a 3 ohm coil?
