Does anyone know if my '64 Dart has to have a vented cap? I have a locking cap that is not vented and I was having fuel problems. :? Also, I can't find a stock cap at the parts store.Only 60-62 and 67 and up. No 64 !!!

The cap does not have to be vented. There is a small pipe connected to the fill tube by a rubber hose that vents the tank.

By the way, check that vent line connection now and then. If it gets disconned, you'll get gas in your trunk, where you definitely don't want it ...
