Is this a useable electronic distributor, can the part be swapped to a slant points distributor and work?

Notice that it has no moveable pickup plate and no vacuum advance or mechanisms...this is a 1981-1987 ESC distributor....unless you are going to EFI and using the PROM to affect timing or racing with a static timing setting, this will not work for you...Nothing interchanges with the EI distributor except maybe the reluctor...the EI parts from an EI distributor can't be readily transplanted to a points distributor unless it's a 1972 points body (that year they changed the body and mainshaft to be like the 1973-1980 EI distributors). -D.Idiot |
