it may be just me,, but I have no idea what a pivot shaft is in relation to the front suspension,,, maybe I know it by a different name...can you post a photo or give another description..

when you say stripped, do you mean the flats on the nut are rounded off,,
if so and you can get to it:
1) try a pipe wrench
2) try heating the nut with a torch then try the pipe wrench again
3) get a nut splitter or cut through the side of the nut with a dremmel obviously being careful to not get into the shaft...

anyway a bit more info from you may help..
good luck

On a Duster Suspension it could only be the Lower Control Arm pivot stud (it'd be bad if the rubber gave out and the nut was seized...), or it could be the idler arm bolt (have to sneak a box end wrench under the front of the oil pan to hold the head of the bolt).

It is the pivot srud that goes into the lower control arm bushing. I have the car completely apart right now just have the nut that will keep on turning and never come off I might try drillibg it tomorrow.

Do you have the torsion bar out? Try putting it back in and see if the nut turns. It it still does, try tighting up the the torsion bar adjuster bolt, to but some tension on the bushing.

Otherwise you can always try a nut breaker.
