Can you tune with a narrow band? Or does it absolutely have to be a wideband? |

Naturally Aspirated Carburated engine "roughing in the settings and tuning" = yes Boosted, EFI, etc... = No (Although Ehrenberg did write in one article that you could tune the EFI setup on the wideband, then save the $$$ by letting it run on a narrow band...I think that was somewhat optimistic for long term use and was not a boosted engine). -D.Idiot |

Narrow bands behave like an on/off switch. They switch on above 14.7:1 and off below that. Great if you're trying to hit 14.7:1 on the nose, not terribly useful for any other air/fuel ratio. And you typically want to hit a much richer air/fuel ratio under boost. |

Not useful at all. Before widebands I tuned a couple of engines using a nb sensor, but it is basically impossible. You can set a good idle and cruise mixture but otherwise no. |
