| Post subject: | 904 Lock-up Shifting Issues |
When tranny is cold and in drive it will start out in 1st and shift to 2nd after about half a block. Once in 2nd, it will not shift back to 1st unless I manually shift it. It will not go into 3rd for about 2 miles. After it warms up, everything works perfectly. Tranny set up for about a year and it's been my daughters car for 2000 miles. Fluid is fresh. I hate to pull it out if its a simple fix. Any Ideas?? Thanks, Rich |

Have you checked the fluid level, not sure but if the 904 is the same as the 727 but if it is, check it in Nuetral while running. You might just find it's a bit low. Hopefully it is that simple. |

Time to do a fluid & filter change... to see if that improved the cold operation. DD |

mattelderca, Fluid level is at normal operating range when hot. Doc, Could it be that simple?? I use type-F. I've heard because of it's consistancy that it could be the issue. |
