Post subject: | Clifford 6 into 1 Headers |
I've got a line on a brand new Clifford 6 into 1 header which i believe is for a 67-76 A Body. I looked at the Clifford web site and the only headers they show for the slant is the shortie style. When did they discontinue that style? What might they be worth in case I make an offer on it? |

I don't believe Clifford ever made a true 6X1 header, but had a Y-pipe they sold with their shorty headers. I would think any top shape Slant 6 header would be worth $200+ these days, less if in cruddy shape. Lou |

So these might be from MP. Did Hooker or any other manufacturer make a 6 into 1? I'm told there are not the shortie style with a 2 into 1 pipe connecting the headers. sent from my iPhone |

JR made the 6X1 for Mopar. |

The MP 6 into 1 did not want to fit with my clutch linkage. That's why I have the Hookers. |

Sounds like those are the MP/JR set, Don. Andy, where the heck did you get those? They might make a nice turbo set, with some moderate modifications. Lou |

sorry it took so long to reply, lou. i have 3 sets. the first i got late 80s from local exhaust shop, got one from this site used a couple years back, the new set came from ebag, a guy had 3 of them and dropped price to 100 bucks. i don't think they are currently being made. here are some pics showing where the outlet lines up, and what mine look like now. had interference issues with the rear sump truck pan. http://s837.photobucket.com/user/akbmot ... t=3&page=1 andy |

I got one of those 3 sets too. It is hanging in the garage and will go into my truck over the winter, with the new cam, 4 barrel...etc. My outlet size was increased to 2 1/2" also. Rick |

It appears the headers I have might be early Hookers which had a 3 inch collector (which these do). ![]() and ![]() and maybe, just maybe, they might fit in an early A. They tuck to the motor pretty close at the collector. |

Thanks, Andy and Rick. I might be interested in one set of those for a project, hmmm.. Don, that is the 6X1 JR/Mopar Perf header. They will take some beating/bending to get them into an early A, but it can be done. Greg O has the same header on the Ruster car. Lou |

Lou - thanks for your input. I am not sure I would want to try and modify this set to fit into one of my early A's. from the looks of them it appears they have actually never been used on an engine other than maybe test fitting and header wrap added - no evidence of any exhaust in any tube or the collector. sent from my iPhone |
