I'm looking to get my head redone from my 64 Dart and I want to have oversized valves put in. I have heard of people using Ford valves but I'm not sure on that. I would like some advice on this subject from people that have done this before thank you. |

You can use ford, chevy, and the standard O/S valves...the issue will be the larger the valve head the larger your overbore will need to be to use it correctly without shrouding a large portion of the valve (typically people will also notch the bore to over come this, but that will depend on core shift and your chamber alignment as well). If this is a daily driver and not a strictly strip vehicle I'd go with the 1.70/1.44 valves unless you can get the other sizes cheaper. All that being said, if this is a 9:1 being used for daily driving stock valves and some port blending will retain good low end torque and mileage...if you are building a 10:1 for street then O/S valves and porting starts to shine... -D.Idiot |

You wil need to bore the motor at least .060 for the Ford 300 valves to clear the piston bores. There will still be significant shrouding of the valves, even with a .060 overbore. I put Ford 300 valves in a head I had built about 15 years ago. It works OK, but they are the absolute BIGGEST valves you can squeeze into a stock head. Personally, I think you can get better results with a good three angle valve grind, some porting, and stock valves. |

Best to use 1.70 intake and 1.40 exhaust. You can use Ford 6 cyl valves cut down to those sizes. As they have smaller stems than Mopar you will need to have new guides put in your head with correct size retainers & springs. Richard |

Per doc, that's a good price and I haven't had problems with them on any of my builds...check and see if he has a set of springs to go with them... |

Yes he does sell new "340 springs" to go with them. I believe they were around $40. Rick |
