Should be. My machinist made one from Aluminum, not even as thick as this one. It just needs to give the headbolts something to torque against. |

Wouldn't steel be cheaper then the aluminum? Machining the aluminum would be easier and probably make up the difference. |

Well Bobby did make a steel one that I used to use. But I left it in the good care of one Sir Will of Glochester! So I took the other less travelled path and finished this aluminum one. Thanks Bobby! |

I am sure it is stiff enough to replicate the head stresses/strains. I have wondered if just running some bolts into the block with some individual washers/spacers wouldn't give you almost the same effect. Lou |
